Are modern accounts of UFOs and aliens a modern interpretation of fallen angels, fairies, and little people, or did these beings change their form to deceive a new generation?

The UFO Phenomenon Taken Seriously

Mainstream society has always viewed the UFO phenomenon skeptically. But the government has now acknowledged that the phenomenon is real and that they are concerned about it. With the Department of Defense about to issue a report on UFOs to Congress, the skepticism may soon vanish.

So, as I wrote in Part I of this series, Government UFO Report Looming: How to Avoid an End-Times UFO Deception, we must filter all new information through a Biblical lens to understand its nature. In doing so, we see that the activities of the so-called aliens closely match the description of fallen angelic beings in Genesis, Jude, and the apocryphal books of Enoch and Jubilees.

We might assume that these activities have continued since the early days of the Bible, but the identification of spaceships and little grey aliens is fairly new. In fact, the first documented sighting of something identified as a spaceship was in 1947.

So have these fallen beings been inactive from the early days of the Bible till modern times, or were they presenting themselves in a different form?

From Fairy Lore to Alien Deception

While reports of spaceships and aliens may be new, stories of strange lights and mythical creatures manifesting and even abducting humans go back centuries. Is this alien deception a new name for an old trick?

Many cultures, including Greece, Rome, India, and Africa, describe gods who lived in the heavens and mated with human women producing hybrid demigods. There are almost 30 demigods in Greek myths alone, including Hercules, Perseus, and Achilles. The Bible explains these myths as the activity of fallen angels bearing hybrid children called the Nephilim. Moses even seems to reference the myths, describing the hybrids as “the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

Outside of these ancient city centers, people primarily lived in agricultural societies and believed in little people, fairies, and elves. Now that we live in populated cities and suburbs we are witnessing UFOs and aliens. Are the stories from these eras connected?

Some researchers believe so.

One such researcher, Dr. Jacques Vallée, is a well-educated UFO researcher who worked for the French Space Committee and as an astronomer for the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Vallée noticed the commonalities between UFOs, alien abductions, and fabled figures like fairies and documented them in Passport to Magonia: From Folklore to Flying Saucers. In this book, he noted that events, like we see today, have recurred throughout recorded history but have been reported in varying forms consistent with the people’s culture and customs.

He further noted a common theme throughout history, “visitation by an aerial people from one or more remote, legendary countries.”

Dr. Vallée concluded that either these beings

  1. remain the same over time but, people interpret their presence according to their current understanding of science and religion, or
  2. mutate their form to match our current belief systems.

How Beliefs About Supernatural Encounters Change

An example supporting Dr. Vallée’s first possibility is the earliest reported sighting of a strange light in the Americas in 1639. Massachusetts Governor John Winthrop documented how two men in a small boat marveled at a strange moving light over the water. They noted that when in motion, the light contracted into the form of a pig. After the event, the men reported finding themselves one mile upstream with no idea how they got there.

Similarly, an abduction account from a Cornish girl in 1645 described her being taken up to a “castle in the air” where she was molested by little men she called “fairies.”.

These accounts are clearly similar to modern accounts of spaceships, aliens, and abductions but are described by the current knowledge of the times.

In his works, Dr. Vallée cited Walter Yeeling Evans-Wentz, an anthropologist and expert on fairy lore in Celtic countries. Evans-Wentz how beliefs in fairies and little people changed at the time of industrialization. He found that while nearly all of the older generation had believed in and even witnessed these creatures, the next generation did not. Thus, it seems that a change in beliefs changed the nature of the experiences.

A new industrialized world led to different worldviews. The notion of space travel entered the human consciousness and the fairy deception evolved to an alien deception.

Changing Perspectives Following the Industrialization Revolution

The first author who wrote about a space vehicle was Jules Verne in his 1865 classic From the Earth to the Moon. And the first author to use the word spaceship was J.J. Astor, who wrote A Journey in Other Worlds in 1894.

But it was over fifty years from the first literary description of a spaceship that someone actually reported an object identified as a spaceship. This first sighting was in 1947 by the amateur pilot, Kenneth Arnold. Mr. Arnold reported seeing nine crescent-shaped objects maneuvering at high speeds in formation. This event kicked off a string of sightings and started the modern era of UFOs. Hundred of reported sightings followed Mr. Arnold’s report. And one month later, the infamous and controversial Roswell crash reportedly occurred.

So it is certainly possible that UFO sightings have occurred for hundreds of years but have been interpreted based on the beliefs of the time. But could the culprits of these sightings also have changed their form to match people’s current beliefs?

Have these Creatures Changed their Appearance?

Dr. Vallée’s second alternative – that these creatures can change their appearance is also possible. That is if these creatures are from the spirit realm.

Heavenly creatures have the ability to change their appearance in the physical world and even take on physical bodies. We see this in numerous accounts in the Bible of angels appearing as men.

We also know that Satan appeared to Eve as a serpent to better hide his true identity and sell his deception. Further, the Bible tels us that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

Unraveling the Alien Deception: Grey Aliens Appeared First in Science Fiction

Depictions of beings resembling grey aliens appeared in popular culture as far back as the 1890s. In an interesting crossover from the stories of old, the alien-looking creature in the picture from the story The Conquerors was a dwarf from the inner earth.

Interestingly, fictional stories of grey aliens with bulbous heads far preceded documented sightings of these creatures. The first description of these beings was in an 1891 novel, Meda: A Tale of the Future by Kenneth Folingsby. In the story, Folingsby describes small, grey-skinned aliens with balloon-shaped heads.

H.G. Wells described something similar to the archetypical grey alien as a model of human evolution in 1893. He then included similar alien creatures in War of the Worlds, (1898) and The First Men in the Moon (1901). Other authors described similar aliens in books such as Den okända faran (“The Unknown Danger, “1933) and If Tomorrow Comes (1934).

By the 1930s and 1940s, grey aliens were common in popular culture, appearing in sci-fi comic books such as Amazing Stories, Wonder Stories, and Science Wonder Stories, among other alien forms. However, these depictions preceded reported sightings of the creatures.

It wasn’t until 1961 that the first widely reported sighting of a grey alien occurred in an alien abduction account told by Barney and Betty Hill. According to the Hill’s, a saucer-like spaceship took them, and grey aliens examined them, collecting biological samples.

Today, seventy-three percent of all reported alien encounters in the United States include grey aliens, according to journalist C. D. B. Bryan.

So, it seems possible that these creatures changed the appearance of their bodies and crafts to conform to society’s expectations.

The Alien Deception is a Deception of Fallen Angels

So, as the government releases more information about these unidentified objects, recognize that there is nothing new under the sun. Remember that the beings and crafts being witnessed today are the same creatures witnessed by humans throughout history. They are the fallen heavenly beings described in the Bible, and their goal is the corruption and deception of the human race.

The case for an alien deception can be further proven by the intriguing connection of reported UFOs and aliens to witchcraft and demonic activity. I will examine this connection in the next post.
